On 12th July 2014 the time had finally come: our team proudly attended the opening of the “Höi-Turm” aerial adventure park in Adelboden, Switzerland. For KristallTurm®, the 13-poles-installation with 64 climbing elements and additional children’s course with 12 elements has been very close to the heart: Firstly, our assembly team had the chance to complete a second project in the stunningly beautiful country of Switzerland. And secondly, the unique challenges of the site have brought us much joy as well as pain. From the very beginning of this project, the task was to calculate and implement the structure of the tower in a way so it can carry, in addition to its 80 tons of own weight, another 600 kg / m2 of snow without problems. At the same time, the main load was to be taken by only one steel pole: A true challenge for our planners, which they have mastered skilfully.
An outstanding highlight of the “Höi-Turm” aerial adventure park is its observation platform with 166 m2. It allows visitors a fantastic view of the Swiss mountain panorama. By theming this high ropes course, we have, thanks to the creative cooperation of operator and our climbing elements planner, been able to create a very unique attraction: the themes Switzerland, alpine sports and alpine farming are reoccurring throughout the entire installation. Climbers can, for example, walk over a Swiss cross, climb over traditional milk churns and a hay cart, and even climb through a cable car cabin.
This KristallTurm® is a unique attraction in the Canton of Bern and will definitely develop to be a number one destination for both local climbers as well as tourists from near and far.
